This 1999 BMW M Coupe was originally delivered to Niello BMW in Sacramento, California, and was purchased new by the current owner. The car is powered by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six that was modified in 1999 with Dinan Stage 1 supercharger kit and ECU chip. A Dinan Stage 3 suspension kit was also installed, and additional equipment includes a five-speed manual transmission, Dinan exhaust, silver-finished 17 Style 40 wheels, Koni shocks, a limited-slip differential, a sunroof, a Harman Kardon sound system, air conditioning, and cruise control. This silver-over-black M Coupe has 65k miles and is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a window sticker, the owners manual, service records, a tool kit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
This M Coupe is one of approximately 95 examples equipped with a sunroof and finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Dark Grey and black Nappa leather for the model year. Features include front fender vents and a rear window wiper. Finish imperfections are noted on the hood and rear bumper.
Silver-finished 17 Style 40 wheels are wrapped in Bridgestone DriveGuard tires that were reportedly mounted in 2016. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. A Dinan Stage 3 suspension kit installed in 1999 added Koni shocks and Dinan springs, sway bars, and camber plate assemblies. Photos showing curb rash are included in the gallery.
The cabin features Dark Grey and black Nappa leather covering the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, an analog clock, a BMW Business AM/FM/cassette stereo, a Harman Kardon sound system, a rear luggage partition, a cargo area privacy cover, and Dinan-branded floor mats. Wear is reported on the drivers seat.
The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline as well as a 160-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 65k miles.
The 3.2-liter S52B32 inline-six featured two-stage VANOS variable valve timing and was modified by Dinan of Mountain View, California, in 1999 with the installation of a supercharger, inlet pipe, plenum purge valve assembly, performance chip, and exhaust system. An oil change was performed in March 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller reports a crack on the driveshaft flex disc.

So far so fun
by Mark S on 2/6/2025 9:18:00 PM
I just bought a 2000 Z3 so no clue on maintenance costs. The original owner only drove in around 1100 miles per yr. Mine has a hard top and was hard to find. A soft top in Cincinnati isn't idea and noisy on the highway. I bought new tires and changed all the fluids. So far it runs fantastic and it's a blast to drive. The interior feels like a car from 1965 but it has a cool retro vibe. My car has no modifications, and it will stay that way except maybe a better stereo. I kept my CRV for winter. Go get one. - 5.0
BMW Z3 Roadster
by Anonymous Reviewer on 9/12/2023 6:28:44 PM
It’s a wonderful car to drive. It’s so easy putting the top down. It handles curves like no other roadster. It’s great on gas mileage and it’s a real sports car without any problems I have found. Thayer are very difficult to find. All colors are very appealing as it’s shape is very sexy. Even as a female, who knows nothing about repairs it’s a very simple car to work on for myself. I highly recommend this car as a great weekend car or everyday vehicle. It’s like looking at a great piece of artwork. I would buy one all over again. I am confident in it’s ability to go back and forth to the Gulf from North Georgia. I highly recommend if you like sports cars be assured you, if you can find a one owner and it’s in excellent condition, you should consider it as a simple car with upkeep and you can find parts very easily. - 4.0
